Gifts for a Preschool Girl

Our precious little girl turned four years old this week, and with Christmas coming way faster than any of us can possibly imagine (are you imagining it?? Are you ready??), I was thinking to go to my Facebook page to share what gifts she got and is loving, but didn’t want a long line-up of links there, so I’m popping over here to this blog that I PROMISE I HAVEN’T FORGOTTEN ABOUT (I had to ask ChatGPT to remind me how to even log in here, haha!) to gather them all up in one place for you.

She told me today “Mama, I love all the presents I got for my birthday,” and she didn’t have to tell me that, because I already knew it. In fact, my mom and I, aged 75 and 44, had a pretty fun time playing with them in the living room floor last night. It’s been a long time since we have had a little girl in the house. They are magic, you know that, right?

Anyway, to keep this from becoming like one of those recipe blogs that talks on and on when you just want to get to the recipe, I’ll go ahead and post all the goods now. Clicking on the photo will take you to the product through my Amazon Associates account, thank you for shopping with me!

First up, the most ridiculously funny and fun gift of the day, the Little Live Pets Mama Surprise Kittens. Here’s how it works: you load the kittens in a secret compartment of the basket, then you take good care of the mama kitty, feeding her, petting her, typical cat stuff. At a certain point, when she has been sufficiently loved, she will start singing a song. That’s when it is time to put her in the basket and shut the lid. She sings again and you open the lid and take her out and, OH MY WORD, she has given birth to a little kitten in the basket! I told my kids this is exactly how each one of them came into the world. Honestly, though, this is the stuff of preschool girl DREAMS and I am so glad we got it for her. There are other versions of this, I believe…a bunny and a guinea pig…and I might have to snag one for Christmas.

Next up, she received this gift from one of her brothers and squealed with delight. “I’ve never had my own Legos!!!” Our littles love Duplos, and this set is really cute and inexpensive. For such a cheap gift, it looks exciting and delivers big fun. Definitely keep in mind for Christmas if you have kids as young as 2. I love Duplos because you can just keep adding fun sets to your collection, and you can keep them around for your grandkids to play with someday, or for little kids who are visiting your house

.

This next gift is a newly released book that is SO CUTE it’s just wrong! Again, the stuff of a little girl’s dreams! We haven’t had the chance yet to enjoy the whole book, but our first skim through was a delight, and there are so many flaps to lift on each page, I am sure this will be keeping our girl busy for awhile. Definitely going in the church bag!

This seems like a good time to tell you that there is a Christmas version, as well! Yes, it is hiding in my closet.

Now the next gift I am sharing with you is one that I allowed my teenage daughter to buy for her little sister, and though I was a little unsure about it, I have to admit that it is probably her favorite gift ever. And have I said this before?…it’s a little girls DREAM! So many compartments to pull out with so many colorrrrs. The big girls played makeup with her today and it was a five star experience for them all.

Next up, the gift that NEVER FAILS, a Palm Pal from her oldest brother. These are the most adorable little stuffed animals, so small and cute that I never mind adding another to our family. There are so many to choose from, and these would make such a great stocking stuff for Christmas. This time, we added a unicorn to the family, because our girl is a unicorn fanatic!

One of the younger boys gifted her a new Polly Pocket set, and I am excited because these things are so great for quiet church play. This one, in particular, has so many fun little pieces and features, and I am pumped to add it to her church bag!

The pieces on the above set are so tiny, so I’m going to also link to the first Polly Pocket we bought for her, with pieces that were very few and a little bit bigger. And yet it has given her hours and hours of quiet play, especially helpful for a church conference we went to in the Spring. I would recommend the above set for a four-year-old at the youngest, and the next set if you have a three-year-old. It’s the perfect Polly Pocket starter set, in my opinion.

Next up is one of the weirdest things I have ever voluntarily brought into our house, but I couldn’t help myself. Our girl loves babies more than anything, and what’s cuter than a miniature baby as small as the palm of your hand?? These are fun because you don’t really know which one you are getting – it’s a surprise! – and I think we will probably get another one for her Christmas stocking.

This is a mega fun and cute sticker book for younger girls, and she is so enamored with it. You will have to be on hand to tear out sticker pages and show her where the more specific stickers go and help her line them up right, but then there are lots of little stickers she can be creative with on each page. It’s just darling, and she loves it. (Sidenote: this says “reusable stickers”, and while you are able to easily peel them up and straighten them if you get one wrong, I feel like it’s a one-time use book).

She also got this one, and though we haven’t done it yet, I know it’s going to be a hit! Princesses! Sparkles! We love it!!

My mom wanted to wow her with one of those old-school silky nightgown and robe sets, and did she EVER! I had this in red when I was a little one, and oh my goodness! Seeing a little girl just flitting around the house in this pink cloud of nostalgia…it’s too much. I love it.

If you have any questions, let me know! I used to be a bit more controlling about the types of toys I wanted around, but I am easing up in my old age and having more fun with these passing years. I did not plan on one of the earlier articles here being solely about gifts, but I am thinking of some particular people who will want these links, so I am running in like a crazy person to get this out there. And, as ever, I have the best intentions of coming back and actually running this blog like a BOSS! You should be proud of me if I don’t ever make it, though, because I’m too busy House Despoting.

Okay, bye! And don’t forget! Christmas is coming!!
